Water Conservation Education
As part of our Water Management and Conservation Plan (WMCP), the Nesika Beach-Ophir Water District (NBOWD) is dedicated to promoting water conservation in our community. From checking for toilet leaks to reusing rinse water and fixing household leaks promptly, small everyday actions can make a big impact. Explore our easy, practical tips to reduce water waste, protect natural resources, and lower your monthly utility bill.

Water Disconnect Ordinance
To protect the health and safety of our community, NBOWD adopted Ordinance No. 2014-02 outlining procedures for service disconnection due to non-payment or other violations. Customers are notified in writing before any shutoff occurs and have the right to appeal. Reconnection requires payment of past-due balances and a reconnection fee. This policy helps ensure fairness and system accountability while providing due process for all customers.

Lead and Copper Service Line Inventory
The Nesika Beach-Ophir Water District has successfully completed a Lead and Copper Service Line Inventory, in compliance with EPA and OHA-Drinking Water Services regulations. We are delighted to announce that our system is free of lead service lines. This conclusion was reached through a thorough examination of as-built prints, physical inspection of service lines, and confirmation that certain water systems were installed after January 1, 1986, when lead was no longer allowed in water lines. Please be aware that this inventory only covers service lines from the main water line to the water meter. If your property was constructed before January 1, 1986, you may still have lead pipes present, and we suggest consulting a plumber to determine the type of pipes in your house or property.

NBOWD 2025 Fee Schedule
Starting July 1st, 2025, new water rates will be implemented. We contracted a professional service to conduct a fee schedule analysis and are implementing their recommendations. This new schedule reflects adjustments for operational expenses, necessary infrastructure upgrades, and the elimination of the elevation charge.
