Our Services

WATER QUALITY
Our water is sourced from a high-quality groundwater well that produces approximately 240 gallons per minute. We carefully manage our pumping operations to meet customer demand, adjusting daily pump time seasonally to conserve resources and maintain system efficiency.
To enhance system reliability, the District is actively exploring the addition of a second well to serve as a backup supply in the event of an emergency or equipment failure.
Before reaching your tap, the water is treated with chlorine for disinfection and soda ash to raise the pH. Adjusting pH is required under the National Lead and Copper Rule to reduce the risk of lead and copper corrosion in older household plumbing systems. These treatment measures help ensure the safety, consistency, and quality of the water we deliver to every customer.

SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
NBOWD provides water service to approximately 560 active connections, serving primarily residential customers along with a few local businesses. Our system is managed locally, with oversight from an elected Board of Directors made up of non-paid volunteers who reside within the service area. Daily operations, including maintenance and system monitoring, are carried out by the District Manager.
NBOWD is regulated by the Oregon Health Authority, which requires ongoing water quality testing to ensure safe and reliable service. Routine and periodic sampling is conducted as part of our regular maintenance protocols, and the results are shared annually in our Consumer Confidence Report, available on this website.
Through proactive system upkeep and adherence to state regulations, we remain committed to delivering dependable water service to the communities we serve.

Routine Checks, Reliable Service
As part of our commitment to reliable service, regular rounds are made to inspect the District’s water storage tanks, pumping facilities, and system infrastructure. These routine checks help ensure everything is functioning properly and allow us to catch potential issues before they become problems. If you see our District Manager, Melvin, out and about on his rounds—often accompanied by his trusty canine companion—feel free to give a wave and say hello!
